The Calvary Chapel dove is inspired by the Holy Spirit who descended upon Jesus like a dove during Jesus' baptism.  
John 1:32 "And John bore witness, saying, "I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him."
Our unique addition of the anchor is inspired by Hebrews 6:19, and by the Warsaw and Winona Lake area which is nicknamed "Lake City."
Hebrews 6:19 "This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast..." Because of Jesus, we are eternally secure, and that hope is an anchor of the soul.
